!XIX!

I think 19 might me one of the more insignificant birthdays, but its roman numberals have a nice symmetry. So far i've had a pretty stellar 15 minutes of birthday, and today i've gotten a few presents so that's cool. This morning i went a cashed the check from Grandparents Perkes, happily there's a zions bank open on saturday (in smiths! It was hard not to spend it all in smiths right then) Then i came back and found two presents in the mail, one from my parents (which wasn't a present at all...well i suppose it was, just not for me, but it comes with 30 dollars being added to my savings account, so that's rad) and one from Katie and Logan. Now i can go under cover and a mustached crime fighter using my Cat Gun.

Like So:

I also managed to finally photograph the elusive family of deer than roam around Utah campus:

Otherwise today was pretty uneventful. I kinda got another present in my roommate getting a cheap as free snowboard and boots that fit me and i imagine i'll be able to borrow from time to time. I have a couple complaints about my current roommate, but i can't deny that he is a super nice guy. Plus i found out last night that he knows Tai Chi, which is pretty cool.

Lets see...in other news, i may be getting a job soon. I had a job interview yesterday at Jamba Juice and it went really well. They probably don't like that i'll only be there for 3 months, but otherwise i think i'm a shoe-in. I actually had a really great day yesterday, i meant to make a blog about it. Orange Juice and 33% Recycled paper and other exciting adventures. I found out yesterday night that i've spent 60 dollars in the past month or so, that was a bit surprising, but with grandparent money, parent money, pain survey money (they're going to electrocute me and i'm going to answer questions about it for $15 an hour), plus the impending job i should be doing ok, which is good because in one month i'm going to have to shell out 50 bucks on Smash Brothers Brawl...it's kinda bad because i'll only have it for threeish months before the mission, i could just play Adam's...whatever. I think if i have a job when it comes out i'll buy it, because i should be finding myself with a little bit of pocket money.

So that's about all that's going on here. I'll probably write sunday night about this past year, but until then, enjoy the sunset picture i took on the way back from my job interview.

Superbe Mardi Gras!

It's interesting how much more productive a day becomes when there's nothing on Tv. I worked out, i put in a job application, i went shopping (bread, hooray), i ate dinner, and then i watched house. Now i'm watching the election results and trying to learn a new pen spinning trick. I should perhaps be doing physics homework, but whatevs.

Utah voted for Obama, good for them/us (i couldn't vote in Utah with the whole residency thing), i'm really hoping he'll win

Otherwise life of late has been pretty usual. It looks like i'm on the verge of having enough money, s that's pretty exciting. I'm getting 60 dollars on Valentines day for a study i'm in, and there's birthday money, and the chance that i get a job, and i think i have a pretty good chance. I have decent restaurant experience, and if they actually call Sal and Mookie's or Backyard Burgers (if there's anyone who still remembers me at BYB) i'll probably be described well. Speaking of Sal and Mookie's, their new bar-lounge where the scoop shop was looks awesome. To all my people's who read this and live in jackson and don't already work at Sal and Mookie's, you should check it out.

I got a sweet birthday letter today, but apparently i'm not allowed to open it until the 10th. It's sitting on my shelf taunting me with it's hidden awesome.

man, this post is boring. sorry, i'll try to have more exciting news in the future. Here's a picture to make it better.

"Adieu, Adieu, parting is such sweet sorrow."

I don't remember how long it's been since i updated, but i think it was at least a week, since that's when i lost my computer access. Anyway, not a lot happened last week until friday. Friday was my last day at work, and that was good. Blake sprayed me with ketchup, and charlie dumped a bucket of ice water on me. then i went to spencer's house and almost finished master quest. I didn't completely finish though, one of my great regrets.

Saturday was my last day in jackson, and as last days go, it was good. I woke up late, and went in to work to get my last tip out and give them an address for my check. I went over to spencer's house with roberta and then michael and kirk came and we played risk. Kirk won, because I, while lucky, am unable to count correctly (1...2...5). After that we played a little bit of mario party, and then went to Bravo, with melissa, annie, and kate. That was nice. After bravo we swung by annie's house, and i saw hailey and josh and emmett, but i had to leave to get a hair cut and pack. By the time i finished spencer and roberta and michael had adjourned to spencer's house, and so i went over there. I passed tyler and got to say a proper good bye, and then we played some mario party, and then i left, after getting some sweet presents from spencer, and then said goodbye to spencer and michael, and then drove roberta home. X & Y is the most perfectly awful goodbye music, so that was at least appropriate. Said goodbye, and listened to The Hardest Part on the way home.

Today i spoke in church, and that was good, i played piano for the last time (at church, not generally) At the end of the church i got ordained an Elder, so that's pretty major, and then we ate dinner, and then we went home and i finished packing and cleaning up. I got to see johnny on my way out, and that was good. A bit of driving, and now i'm home, in a manner of speaking. I'm here tomorrow, then i ship out teusday morning at 9:55, due to get into Salt Lake at 3:20.

I guess that's about it. My dad's the seminary teacher down here, so he's going to waking up at the crack of 5 to be doing that. He was doing this before pretty much anyway, but now he's not driving 3 hours shortly afterwards.

my bags are packed...

"When i dream, on my own, i'm alone but i ain't lonely."

It's been a short while, because my mom went out of town and took the car and computer with her, which reminded me how much i rely on internet for things, like registering for classes, and talking to people, so i'm thinking i need to get all that done today.

I'm getting ready to go to college, not like packing and stuff, i'm just starting to feel the anticipation and excitement of going. I think it's going to be great, although i'm still a little worried about xmisunderstoodx as a roommate, but i guess logan had almost as lame an alias, and he turned out ok, so there's some hope.

Yesterday i got a call from caitlin telling me that i had work. They had put me on SA, which i haven't done in months, so i didn't check the schedule. This meant i had to quit the really excellent super smash brothers game and high tail it to sal and mookies. It was alright, my manager wasn't mad or anything, but it sucks, because now i realize i have to work everyday this week, instead of just twice. That was kinda a bummer.

In other news, my mom and brother being back have made me appreciate having the house to myself, especially in the mornings. It's just so nice and quiet, and even more importantly, there are never other random people in my house that make it impossible to eat breakfast before i have a shirt on, and other such joys of alone living. Oh, and isaac badgering me to play with him is annoying in the extreme.

I've been playing a lot of risk lately, and i've found out a few things. The first, and most important, is to never start a game of risk at midnight. It's really not a good idea. We played risk until 8am on monday morning. Also, without spencer, it's a lot easier for me to win, since we think very similarly in risk, and just end up hurting each other in the end. Finally, i am really really lucky in terms of risk. Maybe it's not all luck, but it definitely seems like i roll better than i ought to. And there's always the great spencer massacre of 2007, in which 40 or so of spencer's troops were killed, mostly while fighting individual armies of mine, by around 17 of mine. He took me down to one troop, but that was enough for me to come back and win the game. That was an odd game.

I watched the simpsons movie. I liked it, it was funny, although it definitely felt the strain of being a movie instead of an episode. There were a few things that were funnier because it was a movie, but mostly there was more plot and less funny. But it was still worth my 7.25, and it was a nice place to finish my taco bell food.

That same day we went up to josh's lake house and swam around a bit, then swam, paddled, or floated across the lake to the pool, where we swam and dove and played chicken and marco polo and other fun things. There was a bit of lightning, but we outlasted it. That was a lot of fun, i hadn't swam just for fun in a long time.

I think that's about the extent of happening things lately. So i'm gonna do things, or something.

From the Age of the Dinosaurs cars have run on Gasoline

I chose the topic because i liked it, only to realize that it is also nicely appropriate. Tonight my parents are driving down to the coast, taking both cars, and leaving me very thoroughly without transportation for a couple days.

Today i wish happy birthday to my sister Cami. She's my favorite sister between the ages of 25 and 27. I think once long ago i said in my little mini journal that cami was my favorite sister, but at one point i've said that about amy and katie too, now i think i've moved passed trying to decide which sister is my favorite, they're just all so cool.

Life of late has been crazy as usual. I've been working of course. The last two nights i pretty much closed by my self. that was something awful. Work volleyball tomorrow. that'll be fun.

Lets see, what else have i been up to? apparently nothing, that's disappointing. Well, that's all for me.

Let the hours roll by doing nothing for the fun

So, i'm back to living by myself, and now, without decent computer or video games, i'm finding it hard to fill the time. This has some benefits in that i end up being more productive, but mostly i just spend a bit of time bored, contemplating things.

I have a really cool dream last night. It was a harry Potter dream, which, in a world with no harry potter book coming, is about the best i'm going to get. I think i was harry potter, or else i was me and i was in Harry Potter's position. We were running from a basilisk that had materialized out of the grass. It's kinda hard to explain, but i'm sure i've seen it before, i think it must have been a different dream. Anyway, we ran from that, and found the sword of gryffindor, and for some reason at that moment (when the snake was either within sight or i could perceive it getting closer) it seemed very important to sop up the remnents of basilisk venom into a rag. I'm just going to tell you right now that that never came up in the dream, although to be fair i woke up before the end. After that we (who included me, Ron, perhaps dumbledore, or lupin) started running up the corridors of Hogwarts, which were somewhat reminiscent of parts of carslbad cavers. Anyway, eventually we got to this big room where a bunch of hogwarts students were hanging out. The run to this room was actually very long and very scary, but i don't remember it as much. Oh, but on the way we got to this room that had a bunch of doors, and i know one said "Geography Bee". A couple of them were too small (made for house elves) and so we chose a big one with blue lettering. This took us to the hogwarts student room. In this room we were kinda trapped, and i remember that i needed to somehow get to someplace. I climbed up on these rafters and then made my way over to some ropes that were hanging down. :I swung over to this little secret door that i knew was there, and would take me to where i need to be. It took me a while to get the door open, all the while mrs. van uden was below saying she'd catch me if i fell (which i hardly saw possible). Eventually i opened it up to the passage way, but found that it was far too small (which is a part of a dream that i've had many times since i was 9, there's this passageway in the jackson street house that's about as wide as an air vent, and i somehow have to get into it). Some goblins come in (not harry potter goblins, Lord of the Rings goblins) itching for a fight, and i'm having trouble remembering spell names, so i get someone to give me my sword, and petrify the goblins and then stab them, which kinda makes them fall apart. I go over to corned to stay for a while, and this little kid next to me is really thirsty, so i go to find some cups, and use aquamenti to fill them with water. Shortly afterwards Snape came in, and i remember thinking that he was good, and that he was just pretending to be evil, but then he came over and started acting very evil, he poked me with his wand and i remember this searing pain in my side (which i now realize is where i bruised my ribs on a volleyball pole yesterday) And i couldn't remember the spell for shielding, and i couldn't really see straight, and the more i tried the harder it was, it was like i couldn't open my eyes, and then my mom called and i woke up to answer the phone.

Yesterday i played volleyball with some people from work, which was fun. I've realized how extremely competitive i am, or rather, that not everyone is extremely competitive. Some people are perfectly ok playing games to have fun, and i don't quite understand that. I mean i would rather have fun than win, but winning is usually fun, and so i don't often have to make the choice. Anyway, i think i proved myself alright at volleyball, which made me happy. It's not easy to gain respect working in the ice cream shop, i dunno, it just seems juvenile compared to the other side of the restaurant, which i think is part of the reason i want to do expo again. Also that you're part of something bigger there, as opposed to the scoop shop, which is pretty enclosed.

So now i'm trying to decide what to do until i have to work, which is complicated by the fact that i'm not sure when i have to work. I think i'll probably swing by work and then go to the gym. So until i succumb to boredom and write again, farewell.

So that i can feel the rain

Yesterday and today have been pretty busy. Night before last i watched a twilight zone marathon until 4am (a grave mistake, but a fun one), and so all day thursday i was a little off. I got up at around 11 and filled nail holes for a while. My mom told me i had to bury a dead osprey in the neighbor's yard (it was in the neighbors yard already, that's not just where i buried it). Apparently the afformentioned osprey were sick, ergo the odd habitation, or else some loathsome neighbor decided that osprey make too much noise and shot them, either way, it fell to me to bury the bird, which smelled quite awful by then. So i did that, and then rested for a while, then i sanded and filled a couple more nail holes, then our neighbor came over and said that there was another bird that i had missed. So i buried another osprey, originally i'd planned to use the post hole digger, since that would have gone way faster, but that broke, so i had to fall back on the shovel. So i finished that, and i covered up the two graves with some bamboo do discourage them from being dug up. After that my mom gave me the choice between painting and running errends and i chose the latter, so i went to Indian cycle and they said that it would cost 255 dollars to fix up my dad's bike, so that was a rip off, i think we can probably fix it ourselves for about 30. Oh, and i got lost on the way because i forgot how the ridgeland exit works. But yeah, after that i went to Circuit City to put a new radio into our car, and i had to wait an hour and a half while they did that so i read some books at barnes and noble and ate a sandwich. The car eventually got done, and i drove over to johnny's work and got some food there. That was great, but i set it on top of the car when i left and it disappeared, i suspect chicken hawks. After that i got a bit lost again, but eventually found my way to lakeland and went to lowe's. Lowe's, i found out, is like Home Depot, only the selection is crap, and the service is awful. so that was nice, and then i went home. I watched Rope, which is a great movie, huzzhah for Hitchcock, and then i went to sleep.

Today i worked in the attic, which is always an awful experience, but then i got Mac and Cheese. Now i'm waiting until it's time to work, and eagerly anticipating Harry Potter. I'm going to buy it at midnight and read it straight through again, partially because i want to, but also because my mom is leaving tomorrow at 12, and wants to take the book with her (since she's the rightful owner)

Right now isaac is trying to play Shadows over Camelot with the neighbor kids, which is funny since he doesn't actually have any idea how to play. I'm hiding in my room, because small children not related to me generally get on my nerves. That's all for me.

"It's my blog...it's kinda a big deal"

I've been bad about updating consistantly, but, in my defense, a lot has been going on lately. I graduated. That's pretty monumental i guess. It doesn't really feel monumental, i hope other big milestones in my life are less anticlimactic. Despite what people say, i haven't been building up to graduation for 4 years of my life, i've been building up to college, and being out of high school. Being out of high school is not at all dissapointing, and is every bit as independent and enjoyable as i had hoped. Thus far, it's been significantly less productive, and i still haven't gotten in the habit of working out. My New Month's resolution is to start monday working out consistantly and keep going through the entire month of june. I'm going to swim too, so that i'll be in shape for backpacking.

I went shopping today, completely on my own. It sounds kinda stupid, but it's the first time i've gone shopping completely independently for a long time, probably since the cambridge years. Usually i'll at least have to ask to borrow the car, and or clear some spending with the parentals, but today i just up and went after cashing my check, and then went to work.

I bought some sandals, some shorts, and some khakis from target, and i'm pretty happy with them. The sandals are, in truth, more of water shoes, but i like the way they look and this can be fodder for some new nick name. I also need to buy some new running/hiking shoes, but those are expensive, so i'm going to shop around some.

I got another Wii remote on wednesday night for a graduation present, which is pretty awesome. Now we can play 2 player boxing and tennis and baseball on the wii. And i downloaded Starfox 64 and Mariokart 64 for the Wii. I think i wasn't supposed to let logan know, but whatever.

Lets see...in other news i'm working a lot. That's taking away all my hang out time, so i'm having to be creative with my fun times, like in the mornings, or the middle of the night. Yesterday michael and spencer hung out at my house and we played video games and watched a movie until around 5am. That was a bad plan, i was sleepy this morning, and though it was mostly okay, spencer missed his grandparents leaving, i feel bad about that, I really failed at being woken up by my alarm. I don't even remember it at all, at some point i managed to turn it off without waking up. So that's something.

I think that's all that's been going on right now. I got payed today, so i have almost enough money to completely pay off the parents. That's pretty fun. Oh, we now have a house rented down in biloxi. I say we, i really mean they. I'm never really going to live in it, which is weird. But because of that i have to pack up all my stuff and be pretty much packed for college sometime in the middle of june, apparently i'm living pretty much on my own for the second half of june, which is going to be a little weird, probably some fun, hopefully i'll stay productive. We'll see. I think that's all the news from the Ammon front. Stay tunes for the next exciting installment of Ammons blog.

So, it's been a little while

The major problem with owning a Wii is now my free time is more like Frii time, and while super fun, it's sucking up my time for being productive, and more importantly, blogging.

A lot's gone down over the past while. I'm going to go backwards, because that's the way i remember it.

I just got back from Pirates of the Caribbean, which is a really great movie. It makes the 2nd movie worth watching, although still inexcusably bad. It was nice to finally hang out with johnny a bit, since i haven't in a while, hopefully there'll be some of that tomorrow.

Since my last post i've pretty much finished high school. It's insane. I got my cap and gown on Tuesday. All that remains is a hefty calculator fine, since the one i borrowed and the really awesome ti-89 i won both got stolen out of my backpack. So that made me pretty upset. Add that to the tab of stuff that morally lacking people owe me along with yu-gi-oh cards, a trogdor shirt, and a bike, all stolen on jackson public school property. So glad that's the last time that'll happen.

I've had some nice hanging out and saying goodbye with the cool teachers that i like, mr. jones, mrs. williams, mrs. polanski, unfortunately i haven't really gotten to do the whole goodbye thing for ms brierly or mrs van uden, but i'll get to that hopefully. It's really weird to think that this is the last time i'm going to be seeing a lot of people.

I've mostly been working lately. I really like my job, and my job really likes me. It sounds kinda self centered, but i like this job a lot because i'm much more appreciated than i was at backyard burgers. 2/3 of my managers liked me there, but Andrew, Joe, and Jeff are all very good at complementing good work. It's cool. I wish i could keep working here and live in Salt Lake.

Wow. I'm going to be living in salt lake in less than two months. I still haven't quite gotten a handle on this whole college thing. I've applied for housing, picked roommates (which was really hard) and scheduled some orientation. I fly out of mississippi on the 14, and i'm gone. insane.

I've also been playing Zelda a lot. Like really a lot, i've had it for less than a week and i've played it over 30 hours i think. But c'est la vie and all that.

I finished up all my AP exams, and i expect to do at least very decent. I'm hoping for 5's on the english and math exams, but i have a hard time knowing. The gov i'll shoot for a 3, a four if i'm lucky, and i'd be more than happy to have a 3 for euro.

I've been noticing how much working at Sal and Mookie's has reworked the way i think. I now have a few weird compulsions, like stabbing tickets, and taking dirty plates. I very naturally carried three plates at a pot-luck, and when i handed someone a drink i came very very close to saying, "you enjoy that sir" in my sort of cheesily sincere kindness i've been developing. I also hold the door open for people and say hi or ask them how their doing on the street. Sal and Mookies has done more to instill southern hospitality in a month than the south has in 14 years.

It's also kinda weird to think that i'll be leaving the south. As much as i've tried to avoid it, this is very much where i'm from. I get a bit defensive when people from outside the south talk about it, or just are ignorant. I am ready to go though. Even though i doubt college will be the holy grail of coolness, success, and awesome that i'm hoping for, i'm hoping the mayor won't be completely insane and the bureaucracy completely useless. But i wax political.

That's all that comes to mind as far as news and such. i had my seminary graduation a little bit ago, so that's cool. In one week i will be a high school graduate. go figure.

Saturday, May 5, 2007

the past week has been crazy. Really completely crazy. I think sunday night will be the first time i can just spend some time to relax, that'll be relaxing. mmmm.

Anyways, today was alright, busy, but alright. i guess i should start with yesterday. ok. yesterday. My mom let me sleep in, which was nice of her, since i hadn't slept much, but i was still pretty severly out of it until around lunch time. Then we had a russian girl play piano for us, then i went to work. I did expo at work, which was way easier than scoop. I actually got out of their before 11, then i watched LOST, which was super cool.

Ok, this morning i woke up at 5:30 and drove to the middle of nowhere to play piano, i didn't do great, it wasn't terrible, but some girls did better than me, so yeah, i don't really care much, so i'll survive. Then we drove back to jackson (at around 9:30) and i ate a sandwich and then went to work. I worked SA from 11-3ish, ate some lunch, then worked scoop until around midnight. All in all, today went well at work. i didn't break anything, i didn't lose anything, i didn't ruin anything, and nobody had to wait for a few hours because of me. I did forget to check a togo order before i sent it off, and the kitchen had made it wrong so that was too bad, and i dropped a scoop of ice cream on the ground, but other than that i was good, and i'm might break 30 dollars in tips. that'd be cool.

So yeah, now i'm going to relax for a while, i ate the rest of my lunch for dinner.

but yeah, i hope i'm never this busy again. I need time to relax.

What is six times nine?

I was hoping that dark rainy thursday night would be a kinda quiet relaxing worknight with an early closing and then on to a nice spiderman III.

Well.

Apparently rainy thursday night means lets all go work the ever-loving-crap out of Ammon and bring every problem possible. Just a little run through: I think first i broke a glass, that was one of the best things that happened to me tonight. Two people's togo orders hadn't even been rung up when the people got there, so they had to wait an extra exorbitant amount of time for their food, somehow, someone decided to add anchovies to a pizza which really didn't need anchovies, we gave a lady the wrong sandwich, and so she called in and said she wanted the right one. This also meant that another person came to get food, and his food wasn't there. Lets see, that may have been the main things that were our fault. On top of that the system was screwing up, the kitchen was screwing up, expo was having some struggles, and we only had one manager, andrew, who about fired me and hung himself. At the end of the night we were 20 dollars short in drawer, so i had to give 10 dollars, and lost 10 dollars in tips (i say had, i offered to pay it all, but the nice lady who did my report recommended half tips) the worst i don't think they were my fault, but they were my responsibility, so i'll deal. I also got 27 dollars today, so i'm no poorer or anything, oh, and i also got a 20 dollar gift certificate and a trophy. woo.

But i love my job, i really do. It's one of about three things that makes me wish i was staying in jackson. I wish i could take it with me to college. oh well.

But yeah, it's now 3:20, and i have 3 glorious hours of sleep before i start tomorrow, which will probably be about as rough as today, except tomorrow i get my pay check. Word.

Oh, and spiderman was amazing, it made tonight just a bit good, and is letting me go to sleep without feeling like complete crap. hoorah.

Saturday, April 28, 2007

this weekend feels like a bit of a waste kinda. Well, mostly Saturday. Friday was lots of fun. But because of work i started hanging out at around 11:30, and didn't get home around 3. I slept in until 1ish, and have to go to work at 4:15, so there's not a whole lot i can do in between. I am probably going to get mad tips from yesterday though, so that's kinda nice, but i'm not really having any time to spend them, so yeah. I remember how this goes, but i figure once summer kicks in (in no more than 3 weeks) i'll be able to have tons of fun. i'm looking forward to it. I'm also looking forward to my pay check friday, i can't decide whether to buy a Wii or a Cell phone, but right now i'm leaning towards a Wii, probably by then i'll have enough money to buy a cell phone in tip outs, so i may do both. We shall see.

This friday is Spiderman 3, i really want to see it at midnight, but i have to wake up at around 6:30 the next morning to drive to laurel for a piano competition, so i dunno if that's going to work out. I'll have that friday off though, so i'll probably just see it during the day sometime or something.

Pergatory

That was, quite possibly, the most nervous i've been about anything in a long time. But as of last night i am nearly officially an eagle (some paper work has to go through dallas, but for all purposes, i have it, i even got to use the secret handshake). That was kinda scary, that whole unsurety about being an eagle. I think my Eagle scout is worth 45 dollar pants...we still might bring those back though.

Otherwise yesterday was pretty nice. I'm really happy. Wooo!

Last night i drove by mcnally's to pick up my cell phone and go shopping, at some point in there i lost my wallet, so i didn't go shoppping, but we (caitlin and he and i...that sounds pedantic) came home (my wallet turned out to be in the car) and watched LOST (which was crazy and awesome) and then i dropped caitlin off and went shopping and then dropped michael and made it home around 1 and fell asleep in my contacts and my pants.

because of that, today i accidentally skipped school, and didn't wake up till Ian came to borrow the frisbee, i went with him for ultimate, where we played the best 3 on 3 game imaginable. i didn't know 3 on 3 could possibly be good. Tonight Sal and Mookie's opens for reals so that's going to be crazy, i'm kinda worried, but it should be an adventure and some good tips.

It's a Hit

Man, today was a super day, not super enjoyable, (although i did have fun) just super productive. I have earned no less than 50 dollars today, and recieved nearly 40. I painted the house, played ultimate frisbee, hung out with friends, went to work, gave ice cream to children, gave more ice cream to children, worked a lot more, cleaned up a lot, finally made it home around 12 and ate dinner and now i'm needing to start on my english themes, but i'im finding myself short on motivation.

I need to go to sleep. I worked it out and right now i'm getting nearly 8 dollars an hour, which is crazy awesome. I hope it keeps going that way. It should have been even more but apparently some people are crappy tippers, and about 1/2 of my tips (and all of it when i'm not in the scoop shop) comes from the tip pool, i could make twice as much. So that's pretty sweet. The way it's looking, my next pay check i may be able to buy a wii. That would be crazy cool. Alright, i'm going to either do my project, or attempt to take a power nap. Power naps are dangerous, because there's a high risk of just falling asleep, but i think at the point i am right now i can't really think enough to finish my project. I can type this garbage, but this hardly takes thought. Apparently writing makes me make decisions, hopefully i'll be back up in a few hours, for now i'm going to power nap.

Starting with a bang, and then some

I'm now done with my first real day of work at Sal and Mookie's New York Pizza and Ice Cream Joint. It was hard. I was a server assistant, which meant i bussed, i pre-bussed, i brought in dishes from the back, i walked around a lot. I think there was about 1 moment of non hectic moving around. But that's ok, i like busy jobs, it goes fast. After i clocked out i stayed to help caitlin close up, which basically meant sal and mookie's got a free hours work out of me, but that's ok, it wasn't hard, and i got a good ice cream cone. Tomorrow i work on Togo, which, considering we're not doing to-go orders until friday, should be pretty relaxed. It'll be a nice break. My feet are sore.

In other news, i got the stipend from the U, which means college will be relatively free. I sent in my national merit stuff, so we'll see what happens there, and i have work study for 5000, and i may have a job up there in addition to that. So it's possible that i'll come out ahead in all this. I doubt it though.

I'm not going to school tomorrow, little freshman's or sophomores have testing, so i would be in the gym all day, and that's not cool. I wonder where the word sophomores comes from, it really doesn't make any sense. it's probably latin or something.

My Eagle Board of Review is thursday, i'm sort of nervous, if i don't get my Eagle i'll feel pretty thoroughly like a failure. So we'll see how that goes, i'm hopeful. Suddenly there's an annoying dog barking at something outside my house.

It's the littlest things that make my day nice.

it's been too long. Life has been going strong for a little while now. I've almost finished all my training for Sal and Mookie's, so that's pretty much awesome. I get my first paycheck tomorrow, and it should be around 100 dollars or so. Gonna spend some money.

Prom was good, dinner was great, and inexpensive, and prom was good, much better than last year, and i after party'd a little bit. Drinking isn't really my scene, so i left at some point.

Lets see, this week not a whole lot has been happening, but i've caught up on school and worked a bunch, and haven't really had a chance to hang out at all. Today was my senior recital, which was exciting, i didn't play my best, but i played alright, and got kudos of all variety.

I don't have all that much to write about. Cami flew out today, that was kinda sad, but i'll see her fairly soon. I don't really know what i'm going to do this summer, cus my parents are probably moving and i have a job and all that. it's confusing. Anyway, i'm going to do nothing

until next time.

This Easter Morn

Ew, i'm updating this from Internet Explorer. It clicks when i click stuff. Anyways, today was a fun easter. There are our happy easter eggs. I worked really hard on one of them, and then the other three were pretty weak. We played King Egg, and i lost. I didn't win a single round. it made me sad, but i live. Lets see, what else.

Cami's in from Utah, that's fun, we're kicking butt and playing games, or watching movies and playing games...either or. I'm getting dangerously behind in my movie reviews, i have the illusionist, Men in Tights, Unbreakable, part of Superman, and some others, anyway, i'll take care of those later.

I already said i got a job i think, but i don't remember how much i talked about it. Orientation is on thursday, and a whole mess of people i know are going to be working there. It's awesome. I have to buy some shoes that don't slip on slippery floor. Here's a list of things i need to buy:
Cell Phone - I think this might be the first thing i get. I'll probably just hit up eBay or something
Cell Phone bill/other parental debt - Yeah, i'm in the hole quite a bit. Between phones bills, prom, and other things, it's a problem.
Watch - My watch is pretty busted up.
Wii - Originally i'd said this would be the first thing i was going to buy, but i think i need to do those things first, or at least the cell phone and some of the bills...
Wii games - that'll probably take care of one full paycheck.
Friendly Debt - I don't like being in debt to my friends, i owe josh 10, caitlin and meghan a few, and probably some others i'm not thinking of right now.
Presents - I know what i have in mind, it's just going to take a bit of Capital. I guess i should take care of this before everyone head stheir seperate ways...how sad.

That's about it. I'll think of more things while i have money, and i'm sure clothes and food will work their way in there. Oh, and part of my wages will be in daily cash tips from a tip pool. I like that.

That's about all i guess.

JEORB!

Woo, today i got a job at Sal and Mookies. It makes me happy.

Sunday, April 1, 2007

Well, conference today was good. I finished the things they carried, which ended kinda abrubtly, and too soon to keep me from getting bored in the two hours between sessions. Saturday i had MMTA, and i think i did alright in that. We'll see though. My last MMTA ever. crazy crazy.

Lets see, other news. I got my report card back and i'm somehow failing government, if i don't pull that up i'm going to have to do summer school, that kinda sucks. We'll see what i can do about that. Also, i think i'm going to ask Roberta to prom, she already has a ticket and it's just handy. I know it hasn't worked out well in the past, but i think this'll be different.

Still no word on the job front, they said they'd call me, hopefully i'll hear about that. I want a job a lot.

Friday, March 30, 2007

hm, it's been some time, lets make some updates:

I'm going to University of Utah, Penn shot me down, which was mildly suprising, MIT did as well, which was not at all suprising, BU is way too expensive, as is BC, although i haven't heard from them yet, and Byu, i dunno, i just don't think that's my type of place. I'm sure i'd have fun there, but i dunno. Anyway, the U will be essentially free, which is a big plus. Anyway, i know where i'm going to college now. How bizarre.

Also, i'm going to prom, albeit stag. There is still some technical possibility of me manning up and asking somebody, but it's a slim one, and would require said somebody to not have a ticket, and still want to go to prom. Anyway, we'll see how that turns out, but don't hold your breath.

Lets see, in other news, my stats grade will go up, that's exciting. Also i turned in an application for a sweet restaurant in fondren that i want to work in and think i have a good chance. I really need a job. The impending doom of Prom is a little scary on top of my already unreasonable debt. It's true it's only like 30 dollars or so, but the fact that i have no income, and that i've almost never been in debt to anyone, is no fun.

Um, that's about all. I'm tired. MMTA tomorrow. Cami comes in next week, prom the week after that, 2 weeks, ap exams, 2 weeks of nothing, graduation. Madness
